Back in the 90s the ôSunset loungeö, an upcoming
cool place for artists, gay people, new young
businessman and just friends, open ed its gates on
the Pacific Coast near San Francisco. Four friends
who founded this place and came from different
ethnic backgroun ds (South-American, Asian, and
European) had the idea to create something new and
unique by bringing everybody from different root s
together into one big multi-cultural melting pot.
To realize this idea, they built the ôSunset
Loungeö on 250 sq ft. Directly l ocated next to the
ocean, the ôSunset Loungeö combined club bar,
theatre, restaurant, and hang-out all in one place
in San Francis co, the most tolerant, liberal, and
stylish city of the World! The ôSunset Loungeö
became a base for stage appearances, cr eative
ideas, and bringing dreams aliveà. Various
musicians from all over the world came here to
perform their favorite tracks on stage. No matter
if it was electric, acoustic, or instrumental, it
was always matching the atmosphere of easy
listening soundtrack s. After several years in
demand, the founders decided around the springtime
of 2006 to work on a track listing that includes
all the best tracks ever played at the lounge. This
is how the first compilation idea was born.
Matching San FranciscoÆs high -tech generation, the
first compilation ôChill out Ibizaö was exclusively
released via Apply Music store. This first
compilati on was a great success. ôChill out Ibizaö
successfully entered the pop album charts at
position #2, ahead of internationa l stars like
Nelly Furtado and Christina Aguileara. It topped
the charts for over three month.
