chris j, otherwise known as production outfit "cascade", is the
man behind a lot of tunes that you think "shit! i've heard that
loads of times!" and you still were none the wiser, now it's time
for the man himself to step forward with a strain of atmospheric
drum & bass sounding like a hybrid of seba & future engineers
[which can't be a bad thing...]. residing in chicago, il [us for
those that haven't got a clue], chris has been rolling out the
beats for quite some time and looks set to do the same in to the
future & beyond.
he has one foot firmly lodged in the past and loves 80's music.
"it's all about the synths!" says chris. a lot of the sounds he
uses he tries to twist to give an 80's feel to and the predominent
sound of chicago house music should be noticeable when dissecting
the j's sound. this has always, and still is, one of his main
passions within music and he looks set to expand his productionary
vision with some sublime house cuts being selected for release on
the massive swedish house label svek.
one thing is for sure, you can expect quality and innovation with
every chris j tune you hear. "i just try and do stuff that i
haven't heard before". "if i can do this with every track i make,
then i'm pleasing myself at least..."
