since the advent of the broken beat scene, there are loads of
artists and labels who have come to the fore. of all of them
though, domu is the new talent. this despite the fact he has been
releasing records for five years and djing a decade. the likes of
4 hero, ig, alex attias and the majority of the west london crew
have been involved in the industry since the early 90's and are
very well established. domu is still new in comparison and it
seems appropriate that this release should come through his label
equivalent - the mighty archive records from italy.
to show how well respected the young dominic stanton is, check the
collaborators on this album 'up and down' - ian o'brien and
valerie ettiene, two perfectionist in their field who fit
perfectly into the domu framework. 'sail away with me' however is
the albums pinnacle moment with the gorgeous vocals of valerie
etienne perfectly gelling with the broken cut up beats and
electronic sounds.
note that the tracknames on the b-side are unconfirmed, infos were
neither available on the record nor on the label's website.
