The Teeth are often compared to the Kinks, The Talking Heads, and the movie
ôPunch Drunk Loveö. With three previous self-produced-self-released albums,
YouÆre My Lover Now is their first LP on Park the Van Records. Recorded in a
warehouse in West Philadelphia, YouÆre My Lover Now (Mixed by Nick Krill of the
Spinto Band) is as singular and strange as the location it was created in. ItÆs
an emotionally absurd vision of the mundane with inspiring build-ups and
depressing let-downs. To describe the album let's say this: Take the actual
title, "You're My Lover Now", and mix it with the scrapped working title,
"DERANGED!!!!!!!", and that pretty much sums up the feeling and sound of the
album.
