This EP is titled On the Road, but it could also be road
movie. Or road trip, for that matter, with emphasis on the
trip part. NILU drops a masterpiece of dancefloor cinema. To
be more precise: A stylish b-movie full of dusty, surreal
desert optics and nods towards a neo western atmosphere.
Sascha Cawa reports the escalating plot from his own
perspective: The multi-layered drama of the groove builds
and morphs in an equally compelling flow, but there's quite
a few new, unexpected turns and twists in here. The
enigmatic, shape-shifting pyramid patterns that glow inside
the melodies of Unicum lead us into even deeper, dark and
warm soundscapes. Rounding off these soundtrack vibes just
perfectly: A WOODKIN remix of Impulse, a NILU tune that was
released on 3000Grad earlier already. The mighty forward
thrust of this version fits perfectly into the primal energy
of this EP, the vocal adds another cinematic touch as if
introducing a crucial scene.
