richard dorfmeister is half of viennaÆs kruder & dorfmeister, the
extraordinary dj duo whose remixes for roni size, madonna, bomb
the bass, lamb, and depeche mode have made them arguably the two
biggest (and most licensed) stars in the dj/producer world. their
sound is a lush and powerful amalgam of latin, dub, hip hop, drum
'n' bass and downtempo beats. itÆs difficult to go into any club
or lounge that portends to be hip without hearing them. richardÆs
side projects have only added to his reputation including the
popular tosca cd, suzuki. in essence recruiting himself for the
verve remixed project, he heard willie boboÆs "spanish grease" in
a club and had to do the remix . . . ultimately collaborating with
the fast rising madrid de los austrias.
richard dorfmeister has often worked with talented, up-and-coming
djs. add madrid de los austrias to that elite list. two
dj/producers who are on the rise, madrid consists of heinz
tronigger (aka don zanuste) and sound wizard pogo. in addition to
being a dj, heinz is also founder of sunshine enterprises, an
independent music company running two of the hottest clubs in
vienna ù the meierei and the roxy. pogo on the other hand is one
of the most gifted and in-demand instrumentalists in austria. he
recently toured all over the world with his band, played back in
the day with the legendary falco, and is also a very talented
actor. he recently produced chaserÆs first solo album for the
sunshine enterprises label. their slamminÆ collaboration with
dorfmeister will ensure that madrid de los austrias is a name
youÆll be hearing more about!
