Three years in the coming, Darrell Fitton's debut Bola LP is a
varied, engaging listen. The tracks mostly follow in the style of
heavily machinic, wistfully melodic post-techno first explored by
Warp label artists like the Black Dog, Autechre, and Aphex Twin,
but as evident are the influence of artists such as Tangerine
Dream, Skinny Puppy, and Vangelis (the ten-minute closing cut,
"Whoblo," sounds like the soundtrack to a pornographic Blade
Runner). Includes the best moments of Fitton's two previous Bola
releases, the Bola EP ("Forcasa 3") and the "Aguilla" 7-inch (the
