the primer single before 'river made no sound'.
all tracks exclusive to this EP.
the first thing you may think when you hear this is what the hell
kind of turntable was it recorded on, as it may seem like there was
a massive fluff ball on the needle. rest, take a breath... this
record is new out of the sleeve and recorded with loving care on my
50lb marantz servo direct drive 6320 with a fresh stanton needle.
still, it sounds as though mr. nelson has programmed this using
tiny samples from dust and paper. this effect turns out to produce
a warm, emotional atmosphere to support the intensely deep bass.
i am sure he specifically composed these tracks to be played on
the turntable.
the record had one small defect, there is a bump near the beginning
of track a1. i decided not to edit or use any noise reduction
procedures. the only way to fix this was to buy another copy, and
we urge you to do so. --sb
