8 Studies in dub considering global welfare as well as
     international charity stamps and letters

     SHERIFF
In the 1950's there lived a guy called Sheriff in St. Mary/
Jamaica. At this time Jamaicans could sign up for farm work in the
USA. To his great delight Sheriff got a ticket and was flown to
Texas. There he worked for half a year on a farm and picked cotton.
Sheriff was fascinated by the Texans, who ran about with cowboy
hat, holster and spurs- and when he came back to St. Mary he
brought these same things with him. A short time later the first
movie theater of the town opened, and the first movie shown was an
American western. Sheriff came to see this movie on horseback, with
hat, a 45er Colt and spurs. He tied his horse in front of the
theatre and saw his first movie. And precisely in that moment when
the good guy of the story should be shot by the bad guy, Sheriff
jumped to his feet and roared: 'You will never kill my hero!'. Then
he drew his Colt and shot - Bang! Bang! Bang! at the screen - and
all the people in the theatre leapt to their feet and screamed...

     DIGITAL JOCKEY
is one half of the 'Computer Jockeys'. He plays four musical
instruments and was a Jazz- musician, but he produces his music
exclusively with the computer. He lives in Dortmund, Germany. The
album on hand came into being under the impression of the
presumably first Techno-Dub Crossover of 'Rythm & Sound w/
Tikiman', that influenced the artist decisively.

     JOSEPH GRANT
Composer, singer and musician Joseph was born in St. Cathrine/
Jamaica and started his career in the 1970's. As DJ 'Youth Mojo'
he brought on the label 'Santic Records'/ Kingston some songs in
the Top 40 of Jamaica. In the middle of the seventies he was a
member of the 'Advocates', a group in which he sang and played the
bass steel pan. In the 80's he founded the formation 'Still Cool'
with musicians of the group 'Twelve Tribes of Israel'. With the
song 'To be poor is a crime', sung and composed by Joseph, 'Still
Cool' took the first place in the Reggae-Charts in Great Britain
and the USA in 1981. In 1992 this track was newly recorded by
Freddy McGregor and again took the first place in the
US-Reggae-Charts. Joseph started his solo career in 1993 under the
name 'Joseph Blue' with the debut album 'Born to sing', that was
recorded in London with the participation of Pablo Black, China
Smith and Jerry Lion. Since 1994 Joseph Grant lives with his family
     in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
