Nagoya's electronic underground has been quietly reshaping itself and this
collection curated by local artist abentis offers the clearest picture yet
of a scene working with remarkable freedom. The producers here, all based
in and around the city, fold ambient drift, minimal house and loose
downtempo into shapes that feel instinctive rather than formal, borrowing
forms only to reassemble them on their own terms. That sense of porous
experimentation holds everything in balance. Am Shhara's 'Vase' opens in a
faint shimmer before Methodd's 'Xylophonica' clicks into bright, mallet-led
motion. abentis pushes deeper into a woozier rhythmic haze on
'Choreography', while baptisma's 'Karula' settles into a humid, low-slung
sway. The second side widens the frame again: Nasty Soupman, Karnage, DHYAN
and daiki hayakawa tracing steppas pressure, soft bloom ambience and
feather-light percussive lines that seem to reform as they move.
enjoy!
