Formed in the early 90s, Love Nut consisted of talented musicians led by
Andy Bopp, who brought a distinctive flair to the power pop sound. Their
first album, "Bastards of Melody," released in 1995, caught the attention
of Interscope Records, a major label known for its diverse roster. This
partnership, however, was short-lived. The Creative differences and
Interscope's changing priorities amidst the grunge and alternative rock
surge led Love Nut to part ways with the label.
"íBaltimucho!", released in 1996 under Big Deal Records, marked a pivotal
moment for Love Nut. Free from major label constraints, the band embraced a
more authentic sound, blending influences from 70s glam rock with the power
pop ethos. The album is characterized by its catchy choruses, reminiscent
of bands like Sweet and Cheap Trick, and is noted for its clear production
and distinct guitar tones.
