INSTRUCTOR(S)
Marcel Rummens
Marcel Rummens is a Solution Architect with a deep passion for
containers, Kubernetes, and modern cloud-native architectures. At
Airbus Defence and Space, he leads teams building secure, scalable
on-prem and air-gapped cloud environments powered by OpenShift and
Kubernetes. With multiple Red Hat certifications, Marcel bridges the
gap between complex technology and practical implementation—driving
innovation, reliability, and efficiency in mission-critical
environments. Beyond his professional work, he teaches Python and Data
Science at TH-Bingen, speaks at events like the OpenShift User Group
and Google TF-Dev Summit, and volunteers for global humanitarian
initiatives. His enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and empowering
others defines his approach as both engineer and educator.
HEADLINE
Reduce access risk, prevent noisy-neighbor outages, and enforce safer
workloads on shared OpenShift clusters—so teams move faster with
consistent identity, governance, and security guardrails.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
REQUIREMENTS
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR
DESCRIPTION
Platform engineers often inherit OpenShift clusters that were never
properly hardened: traffic flows freely between workloads, upgrade
processes are undefined, and application teams deploy inconsistently
across environments.
In this course, OpenShift Enterprise Identity and Multi-tenancy,
you’ll gain the ability to operate shared OpenShift clusters with
repeatable, production-ready practices.
First, you’ll explore how to secure internal and external cluster
traffic using NetworkPolicies, Ingress Controllers, and TLS
certificate management.
Next, you’ll discover how to plan and execute controlled cluster
upgrades, remediate deprecated APIs, and manage operators through the
Operator Lifecycle Manager.
Finally, you’ll learn how to standardize application delivery using
Helm charts and Kustomize overlays across dev and production
environments.
When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and
knowledge of OpenShift network security and cluster lifecycle
management needed to harden clusters, execute safe upgrades, and
deliver applications reliably at scale.
