Some Croatian solidarity here, as Cosada label founder and all-round local
legend LaSeech makes his first appearance on Jan Kincl's Zabreb-based Cycle
Records. 'Rising Soul' is unarguably one of his strongest cuts to date: a
deep, dusty, sample-rich and S3A-inspired slab of hazy house rich in
rubbery jazz-funk bass, swirling sounds, judicious filter effects and
twinkling electric piano. It comes accompanied by two delicious remixes: a
warmer, looser and more organic-sounding deep house tweak by Kez Ya that
prioritises mazy keyboard solos, and Jam Kincl's Moodymann-meets-St-Germain
style jazzy deep house re-fix. Quality stuff from start to finish.
