Since the early 90s, UK techno producer Aubrey (Sllen Saei) has been
sluicing the local pulse of Chicago, Detroit and New York into works
operable this side of the Atlantic. 'Super Analog' brings real time,
voltage-controlled power to said rep book, as the Mojuba sublabel Artless
marks a confident label debut with Aubrey as first investment, over four
tracks celebrating the unquantised, by-definition 1:1 essence of analogue
signals (interpreted by our brains as "audio"). Impedant tone and trouble
collide on 'Big Six' and 'Time Flying', as metallic oscillators
waveshapeshift overhead. 'Rubber Nose' breaks the B with rhythmic hats,
flapping resistively through high-gauge wire, while 'Mysterious Rhythm'
slings the bag lower with effects-laden ambiences, giving off an illusory
time-stretchy feel.
