Following on from his critically acclaimed second album DoltNowMan,
Pilote aka Brighton based Stuart Cullen, is back with another semi
chilled out venture in the form of King Food. Stealing sentiments
from pioneers Depth Charge and Indian Rope Man and adding a modern
day, hip hop, sound scape, sheen to proceedings, with perfectly
clipped beats and loops, not to mention some of the finest samples
on any album this year. Momento on Class and Dog, and a smurf like
interpretation of a funk classic on Bad Twoy (we'll let it be a
surprise). Cullen also drafted in unsigned friend Lewin for an
Antipop Consortium meets Massive Attack number in Welcome. This
adds some grit to proceedings whist maintaining the muted ambience
