the return of rae & christian has stirred up a tremendous amount of
media interest this time around proving conclusively that the
manchester duo are no longer the sole preserve of dusty vinyl
hunters - now the sunday papers beckon.
this lead off single from the new album also confirms that they've
lost none of their fondness for the old celebrity soul
collaboration. bobby womack is the man providing the effortless
vocals - a childhood hero apparently - as rae & christian show off
an equally light touch in the production department.
the sound has certainly matured. the uptempo club soul vibes of
'spellbound' from the previous album have been replaced by gentle
soul ii soul tempo beats and gentle guitar strumming, the song
propelled by the just audible shimmer of strings. all very grown up
stuff...
