How do you like to listen to music at home? In the bath? In your
bedroom? Lounging on the sofa? Chill In is a celebration of the
home chill-out session, featuring 12 tracks handpicked for their
smoky, late night qualities. The featured tunes are deep, warm and
very, very lush. They range from acoustic ambience and orchestral
trip hop (Coldcut, Moa) to deep, mellow house and Balearic beats
(Sub Sub, 16B). Many of the tracks are not chill-out tunes in the
pure sense of the term, but are laid back and relaxed
none-the-less. In fact, around two thirds of the album is made up
of deep, lush, melodic house grooves. These don't seem to be dance
floor oriented at all, and seem to be tailor-made for late-night
home listening. The overall combination of hypnotic, space-age
house and relaxed, sun-drenched breaks is enough to relax even the
most stressed of souls. This is a concept chill-out album worth
owning.
