| Forgetabout was QuaÆs debut album back in 2001, now getting a reissue 6 |
| years down the line. Qua is the alias of Melbourne-based electronic |
| producer Cornel Wilczek, who since releasing this album has toured with |
| like-minded electronica moguls such as Four Tet, Caribou, Clue To Kalo |
| and Triosk. The music here makes for a slightly more abstract listening |
| experience than that list of artists might suggest, however. Forgetabout |
| is sparing with its use of beats, but heavy on atmospherics, recalling |
| Fennesz on æViennaÆ and æGenerating SetÆ. Other pieces, like |
| æBroadcastÆ, with its acoustic guitar arpeggios and low-key drum |
| machine, and the shoegaze-referencing title track amply demonstrate that |
| Wilczek knows when to switch his granular plugins off and strive for a |
| more naturalistic, organic sound. Lovely. |
