     Swedish Metal Aid was a band formed in 1985 to record a single for the
     benefit of the starving famine in Ethiopia. About 80 Swedish hard rock
     musicians from 29 bands participated on the record, which sold 50,000
     copies. The proceeds went entirely to aid efforts.

     Joey Tempest from the hard rock band Europe wrote the rock ballad "Give A
     Helpin' Hand", which is the A-side of the record. The B-side features
     etched autographs of all the lead singers.

     Lead singers on the track are Joey Tempest (Europe), Robert Ernlund
     (Treat), Bjorn Lodin (Bedlam, Six Feet Under, Baltimoore), Malin Ekholm
     (Aphrodite), Tommy Nilsson (Horizont, Easy Action), and Joakim Lundholm
     (220 Volt). The music was performed by Easy Action and Treat.
