Something doesn't seem quite right when you put 'It Will
Find You' on. A sense of limiting injustice û like a
pretty caged bird, or something like that û makes this one
stand proudly apart from the surrounding records in your
collection, snobbishly eschewing equalizers and stereo
knobs to try and break free from your speakers.
But when Maps has finished guilting you into buying new
(and still inadequate) hi-fi equipment, there's the more
important matter the music when it's inside of your head.
'It Will Find You' is actually some way off being the best
song on Maps' upcoming album, 'We Can Create', but it is
definitely worth your while in being mysteriously
different.
Not quite as rejoicing or obliteratingly glorious as your
typical James Chapman track, this single shows a more
ambivalent darkness to the man's beautiful electronic
craft. Two additional songs on this release build to the
more familiar, but make this single both a teaser, and a
great release in its own right.
