Papa Washington Trio are a collaboration between the renowned sub
club resident harri & glasgow house producers dc project, whose
imprint, subconciousness, has attracted attention from u.s house
heavyweight roy davis junior.
as a pioneer of the glasgow house scene, harri has been involved with
the sub club since its doors first swung open in the late 80"s.
during his time harri nurtured the then young talent of slam boys
stuart and orde as well as long term resident, dominic capello,
having also found the time to get in studio work with the dark lord
of deep house, kenny hawkes, as well as holding down a long term
friday night residency at the rockin" fridays r firin", which took
place at plastic people at its old home on london"s oxford street,
w1.
harri, nee james harrigan, has released records via a variety of
labels over his seven year production career. from deconstruction,
island, go-beat and shaboom, to glasgow underground and with us here
at paperecordings (his obvious favourite) where his single "calling
all dancers" from last november was one of our most highest selling
singles.
as well as going under the guise of pwt, you may also recognise harri
by production monikers daddy"s favourite, magpie man and the most
scrupulous of all, harri.
his most successful single to date is the ubiquitous disco smash "i
feel good things for you", which was used on hit television series
"queer as folk" which then appeared on a plethora of house
compilations and unsurprisingly achieved admirable chart success.
dc project"s musical output has been kept to their own subconcious
imprint and chicago"s undaground therapy muzik.
