phillippe cohen solal, christophe h mueller and eduardo makaroff's
argentinean influenced dance project have been causing a buzz in
the dance underground for the past year or so and recently
completed their first album, la revancha del tango.

forming their own label, ya basta, to release their deliberately
unfashionable music, they began turning out distinctly organic
electronic music and were soon being championed by people such as
francois k, ufo, jazzanova, rainer truby, mr scruff, dorfmeister,
     trainer ruby and gilles peterson.

by the time they released their long gestated debut album as boys
from brazil, their brazilian/ african sound had proliferated into
the mainstream of dance music and even as far as advertising
companies who picked the boys from brazil up for a european coca
     cola advert.

but it was the emergence of their third outfit, the gotan project,
that began to attract serious attention through a series of ten
     inch releases.
