█ █▓█ Silencio is the name of two musical artists. █▓█ █
█ █▓█ Firstly, an instrumental math rock/prog rock band █▓█ █
█ █▓█ from Ohio, who released an album named "Dead █▓█ █
█ █▓█ Kings" in 2004. The other, is as follows: █▓█ █
█ █▓█ █▓█ █
█ █▓█ "More than anything else, Silencio is an ambiant █▓█ █
█ █▓█ music project. █▓█ █
█ █▓█ Created by jul (Eglantine Records) in 2001, this █▓█ █
█ █▓█ project started out █▓█ █
█ █▓█ rooted in lo-fi electronics and sound collage, █▓█ █
█ █▓█ creating dark and █▓█ █
█ █▓█ uncanny atmospheres. These experiments gave birth █▓█ █
█ █▓█ to "Sehnsucht", █▓█ █
█ █▓█ Silencio's first album, which was released on █▓█ █
█ █▓█ French label Grand TΘton █▓█ █
█ █▓█ in june 2004. █▓█ █
█ █▓█ █▓█ █
█ █▓█ By the time this raw, personal and uncompromising █▓█ █
█ █▓█ record was released, █▓█ █
█ █▓█ Silencio turned into a two-man project as Nicolas █▓█ █
█ █▓█ Lecocq joined in. █▓█ █
█ █▓█ From then on, both members decided to explore new █▓█ █
█ █▓█ sounds in ambiant █▓█ █
█ █▓█ music, and turned towards melodies which █▓█ █
█ █▓█ Sehnsucht was almost █▓█ █
█ █▓█ completely devoid of. New compositions, some of █▓█ █
█ █▓█ which were conceived █▓█ █
█ █▓█ for a mini tour in Europe (through Belgium, the █▓█ █
█ █▓█ Netherlands, Germany █▓█ █
█ █▓█ and Denmark) brought piano and guitar melodies █▓█ █
█ █▓█ forward, considerably █▓█ █
█ █▓█ lighting the band's sound. Further work was done █▓█ █
█ █▓█ in that direction, █▓█ █
█ █▓█ and quickly gave birth to their new album █▓█ █
█ █▓█ Grⁿnezeit. This peaceful and █▓█ █
█ █▓█ contemplative collection is both the fruit of a █▓█ █
