│ Get Your Hand Outta My Pocket started off as a bootleg project │
│ of remixes, retakes, edits and mashups by the Florida based │
│ indie label Organik Recordings, LLC. With 2 volumes now under │
│ the belt on 12" vinyl format and a third on its way later this │
│ year, the huge success of this project translated by the demand │
│ of the fans into a DJ mix CD by the respective artists on the │
│ label. The heads of Organik, Brazil and Mr. Bambu respectively │
│ decided to feed the masses once more, this time doing a mashup │
│ mix CD ala Hollertronix, etc. │

│ The first mix of 3 is by DJ Brazil, head of Organik Recordings, │
│ LLC, vinyl connoisseur, DJ of Stigmata Bro's and of national │
│ fame. It's a mashup of new school beats with old school lyrics │
│ from your favorite 90's MC's, strategically placed precision │
│ scratches and seamlessly blended mixes. │

│ John Quincy Adding Machine presents parts 1 and 3 of his │
│ soon-to-be universally acclaimed Ultimate Party Mix, which is │
│ rumored to be the best damn party mix in existence, if only │
│ he'd finish it. It's all about the drums here - classic loops │
│ lurk behind every track, linking together disparate tunes in a │
│ seamless blend. Painstakingly designed to deliver the maximum │
│ amount of party vibrations. True beat science folks. │

│ This mix is basically the OTHER side of the spectrum that we │
│ are into. Slow, dirty, heavy beats, with some Durty South │
│ swagger all over the place. Most of this mix is just that: Big │
│ bass drops, crunchy drums, and classic acapella remixes, all │
│ sown up with that signature Bambu cut-n-paste mixology. A │
│ couple highlights include a remix of "Holiday" by Witchdoctor, │
│ a mix of Bambu's own Mercury Program remix (ORG12002) with │
│ Michael Jackson's "Rock With You" sublimely sitting over the │
│ top, and the mix of Twista's "Overnight Celebrity" over Diplo's │
│ "Way More" which sparked off the idea to do a full mashup on │
│ Get Your Hand Outta My Pocket Vol. 1. Also of note is a │
│ special, unique-only-to-this-mix version of a seemingly random │
│ throwaway R&B beat with esoteric jazz singer Joe Lee Wilson's │
│ stirring rendition of "It's You Or No One" over it. Absolutely │
│ beautiful. Bambu likes to juxtapose opposite and disparate │
│ elements, and prove that they DO work well together after all, │
│ provided you do it right. │
