Yorkshire-born, Edinburgh-based Chris Lyth is a man of many aliases, though
it's his work as Jacksonville that has been getting the most attention in
recent times. Here he follows up recent outings on Chateau Chapere and
Oracle Memory with a Phonogramme label debut. He begins in riotous,
peak-time ready mode via the rolling future garage bustle of 'Nightcode',
before switching to deep, colourful and tactile house mode on the gently
picturesque 'Ecstasy in Starlight'. 'Octobers In Love' is a jaunty,
sweat-soaked slab of late-night delight rich in synth-string stabs, dreamy
female vocal snippets and muscular garage-house beats, while 'Blind Spot'
is the deepest cut of the lot - a warming, sunrise-ready chunk of
eyes-closed dancefloor bliss.
