A rapid return to stores for Declan McDermott's second EP for Jimpster and
Tom Roberts' Delusions of Grandeur imprint. Originally released earlier in
the year, 'Why Don't You Believe Me' is a stripped-back, analogue-rich
chunk of spaced-out, electrofunk influenced deep house topped off by a
variety of spoken word vocal snippets. It gets remixed twice, with Parisian
veteran I:Cube delivering a loopy techno-not-techno take and NYC based
Bristolian DJ Nature offering a woozier and more thickset deep house
interpretation. Rounding off a rock-solid package is deep tropical house
bonus cut 'Yara-Kimba (Linedeman Island)'. A fine EP from a producer on the
rise.
