Known to many through the sprawling Lost Acid series, London's Jim Thompson
finally arrives on System One with a record that feels entirely at home
amongst the label's fondness for after-hours electronics. High Score Table,
rescued from Thompson's Glytek Audio album remains the obvious jewel here,
and it's mid-tempo acidic chug wrapped in aching pads and carrying the
faded futurism of a near-empty basement at 5am. Around it sit the tougher
'Cruiser', the late-night drift of 'Numerology' and 'The Hollow Tree',
whilst Irish electro specialist Cignol recasts the title track in his own
unmistakable image. Six cuts with plenty of personality.
