Release Notes:

NOTE: The full title of the album is "And that's why i breathe through the
illusion of wanting to be used to be wanting to do" it's too long.

The Spy in the Mes are a machete tossed salad bowl of angsty garage punk, trashy
pop, dirty circus sounds and polka pumping your blood, taking a little from here
and a little from there, The Spy in the Mes cross dress Modest MouseÆs knack of
finding beauty in the barren and the broken, The ShinsÆ soft-spoken wit, BowieÆs
exhibitionist caricatures and borrow some pop-laden melodies from the Kinks to
weave it all together. AnythingÆs ripe for the picking in The Spy's fare: fierce
heart-racing beats, lazy, droll acoustics, screaming, crooningù but always the
same shifting story of a singer clambering up the rafters with his steadfast
drummer beating at his heals.

The Spy in the Mes is a solo project gone rabid, a one man mission to seek out
weirdness and the strange beauty it uncovers. Artist Jesper Holm, singer and
mastermind of The Spy's capers, began sketching out early drafts of his æspeed
popÆ in a makeshift living room studio in December æ05. By early 2006, Jesper
had old music school chum Hasse Mydtskov drummer in DenmarkÆs budding The
Kissaway Trail hitting his skins. Chaos has ensued since.

There are no mortal laws holding down the mighty Spies, no fear of mixing
distinctly differing styles, sounds and vocals, citing a list of influences from
Ella Fitzgerald to The Shins, Guns nÆ Roses to The Flaming Lips, the pair
brought in mates from other Odense bands to help push the boundaries of what is
acceptable in the Danish music scene. Busting down doors in the bourgeoning
Odense underground The Spy in the Mes continue in the left field vein of their
friends and another notable Danish band - The Ravonettes.

The quick transformation from amusing side project to full-fledged band included
several major highlights in the bandÆs first year of existence: In April
Scandanavian Soundvenue.com concurred with the growing The Spy in the Mes fan
base and crowned them with the coveted Band of the Week position; Then in July
at the 2006 Roskilde Festival for a bet with friends Jesper entered the
festivalÆs live contest - Demo Derby - and with grace and ease delivered a
bare-bones acoustic version of the barnstorming Spy number
ôSmallBlondeFreakyMotherö, Holm left the Roskilde Radio studio with Spanish
guitar in one hand and the first place cup in the other.

Even before the release OF their debut offering, The Spy in the Mes have found
themselves with some major supporters perched in their corner.

Jesper couldnÆt shake his mates from being Spies, even though they both have
band obligations of their own in tow; Mikkel frontman of US college radio
favourites Plok and Hasse drummer for Danish indie favourites The Kissaway Trail
and so the Spy's live ensemble has grown to permanently feature a fistful of
flashy, garish personalities and styles: two bassists, two guitarists and a
drummer, with all five belting out vocals.

DenmarkÆs musical revival has recently delivered bands; Mew,Junior Senior and
now Plok to the forefront of US imports and with the uber credible Raveonettes
always lingering in the darkness, the once sleepy Odense has been rudely woken
from its slumber. Jesper Holm and his band of wandering minstrels have now
arrived in the US to enrich our perception of pop.
