Traincha and Burt Bacharach appear together on new Blue
Note album The Look Of Love. Traincha and songwriting
legend Burt Bacharach have joined forces for TrainchaÆs
latest album, The Look Of Love (Burt Bacharach Songbook).
The album is her second for Blue Note, after her 2004
double platinum effort Strange Fruit. Expectations
surrounding The Look Of Love are therefore high at the
renowned jazz label.
The Look Of Love is a stroll through the rich tapestry the
Burt Bacharach songbook is woven from. One of the all-time
greats among songwriters, he is responsible for such
timeless classics as I Say A Little Prayer, (They long to
be) Close To You, The Look Of Love, and Walk On By. His
songs were recorded by major artists such as Dusty
Springfield, Aretha Franklin, The Carpenters, Petula
Clark, Tom Jones, Michael McDonald, and, of course, Dionne
Warwick. Traincha has revived these classic hits, whilst
retaining respect for the original arrangements. During
the realisation of the project, she was granted the full
support and personal approval of the master himself and
his most loyal accomplices. Impressed by Traincha's vocal
capabilities, Bacharach agreed to play piano on the album
himself. The grand master played a key role in songs such
as This House Is Empty Now.
