As one millennium ended and another emerged in chaos,
The Berzerker pushed extreme metal beyond its limits.
Fusing industrial precision, hyper-speed programming and
sheer sonic violence, the band shattered genre
boundaries with landmark releases like Dissimulate and
Animosity. Then came their final statement: The
Reawakening.
Released independently after four albums with Earache
Records, The Reawakening was a ferocious explosion of
industrial death metal and uncompromising aggression.
Despite critical acclaim, creator Luke Kenny soon
withdrew the album from sale and streaming, frustrated
with the music industry. Over time, the record became a
legend among fans, passed between devotees, shared
through underground channels and spoken about as the
band's elusive "lost album."
Now, eighteen years later, The Reawakening returns.
Partnering with Apocalyptic Witchcraft, the album is
finally reclaiming its place as one of extreme metal's
most unique and devastating releases. From the
relentless assault of "Wisdom And Corruption" to the
machine-driven chaos of "An Unforgettable Force," its
impact remains as powerful and uncompromising as ever.
The Reawakening will be released on limited-edition
splatter vinyl, digipak CD and cassette on October 30,
ahead of The Berzerker's appearance at Damnation
Festival. The album will also return to all digital
platforms on July 17.
The years in the darkness have done nothing to dull the
impact of this industrial savagery. It is time to
welcome back a true apex predator.
