Release Notes:
Harvester is an album of ten covers, of songs
performed or originally performed by artists that
were signed to Harvest Records, now interpreted and
performed by The Blue Aeroplanes: an art-rock group
from Bristol who formed in the late 80's to bring
folk, rock, pop, poe try and art to the masses. The
band has always centred around Gerard Langley and
his poetry, with more than 80 members adding their
bit to the Blue Aeroplanes sound since they released
their first album in 1984 (including Angelo
Brushini, now in Massive Attack).
Langley's writing style has earned the band
comparisons to the Velvet Underground and Time Out
called them "the best band to emerge from the west
country," in their review of Altitude in April 2006.
They had two top 75 singles in the early 90's:
Jacket Hangs and ...And Stones but were big
favourites independent and student radio across the
nations
