"Senhor da Obsessão" marks the new chapter in the
trajectory of the Minas Gerais death/doom band
Inventtor, which features Alan Souza (vocals and drums)
and Tony Lessa (bass), with André Damien (guitar and
keyboard, Paradise In Flames) as a special guest. The
album presents a sound manifesto that delves into the
complexities of the human psyche and the spiritual
dimension, questioning the idea that salvation depends
on external factors.
Throughout the eight tracks, the work leads the listener
through a reflection on individual responsibility,
arguing that each person is solely responsible for their
own actions. The compositions address the marks left by
religious indoctrination and make a blunt criticism of
what the band defines as the "psychological terrorist"
of religion, being the figure who manipulates faith
through guilt and fear as an instrument of control.
"Putting 'Senhor da Obsessão' into the world is a huge
milestone for Inventtor. If in our debut we paved the
way in darkness, in this new album we dive fearlessly
into the deepest layers of the human mind", said Tony
Lessa. "We managed to translate into music the spiritual
weight, the criticism against the bonds of religious
manipulation and the torments of the psyche. It is the
most mature, dense and challenging work of our career so
far and we hope that after the release on July 24th,
everyone can feel this", concluded the bassist.
