Founded in Trondheim in 2018, Paradogmata started as a
melodic thrash band before bringing more death metal,
black metal and progressive elements into their sound.
After the arrival of guitarist ├ÿystein Granamo Iversen
and drummer Kim Sætre in 2025, the band entered a new
phase with a revised line-up and a broader sound.
Necrosian Tastings follows the recent "Kråkevisa" single
and works as a first look at the upcoming album
Necrosian Litanies, planned for early 2027. The EP
includes two new tracks, "Leave the Crippled Behind" and
"Maladieu", alongside two new versions of "Kråkevisa".
The CD edition also includes "Kråkevisa
(Bl├╕tkakeversjon)" as a bonus track.
"Leave the Crippled Behind" brings out the band's
melodic thrash and death metal side, with a heavy doom
section in the middle before the song pushes forward
again. Its lyrics take a satirical look at mankind's
selfish nature and where it may lead. "Maladieu" is more
melodic, built around twin lead guitars and a mid-tempo
drive, while its lyrics were written in the aftermath of
Covid-19 and ask who, or what, the real plague is.
The EP also presents different sides of "Kråkevisa". The
"Kneippversjon" removes the folk elements and goes for a
harsher Norwegian black metal approach, while the
"Folkesangversjon" focuses on Hardanger fiddle, violin
and folk vocals. Ingvild "Sareeta" Str├╕nen Johannesen
appears on Hardanger fiddle and violin on the folk
versions.
