"Take It Slow" is the second single release from Boozoo Bajou┤s
longplayer masterpiece "Dust My Broom". Undoubtedly, this is one of
the most beautiful reggae love songs around. The beat is laid back
and the Fender Rhodes chords sound deep. But most of all, it┤s the
suede voice of Joe Dukie, singer of New Zealand┤s cult reggae band
Fat Freddy┤s Drop, that characterizes the song┤s great vibe. When
love is in the air, Dukie advises to "Take It Slow". And with the
song┤s great atmosphere, everyone will agree. Joe Dukie is sided by
the Jamaican sound system legend, the mighty U-Brown, who rounds up
the love blues with his trademark mc chants.
Seiji┤s remix of "Take It Slow" comes straight from the Bugz In The
Attic camp and puts Boozoo Bajou in a typical West London Breakbeat
style on the dancefloor. Seiji speeds up the voices, adds a
powerful bass and puts it all into a futurist uptempo dancehall
groove, which resembles Nottingham Carnival atmosphere at it┤s
best.
Surprisingly free of any dancefloor fixation is the Mousse T remix
of "Take It Slow". In his version, the Hannover based, German-
Turkish star producer adds strings and horns, creating a classic
Burt Bacharach vibe which will put every ice cube into melting. A
fantastic mix which lets the beauty of "Take It Slow" shine in an
even brighter light.
A fantastic original, two superb remixes - the "Take It Slow"
single, is another gem by Boozoo Bajou.
