Record Time opened it's doors on May 12, 1983 in East Detroit (now
Eastpointe), Michigan. In 1990 owner Mike Himes saw the beginnings
of what would be the Electronic music scene starting up around him.
Taking a personal interest in the music he opened the first of the
world famous Record Time Dance Rooms in the store at 10 Mile and
Gratiot. A store within a store dedicated solely to Techno, House
and Hip Hop music. When the Electronic music scene was still in its
infancy, he started Record Time Distribution in order to better
spread Detroit and Midwest Techno around world. Record Time
Distribution employed such famous DJs as DJ Munk, Dan Bell and
Claude Young. For a time John Acquaviva and Richie Hawtin's
Intellinet Distribution and +8 Records was housed in the back of
the Roseville location. Record Time has continued through the
years to have some of the scene's best loved artists working in the
store including Detroit's own Mike Huckaby who worked the Roseville
     Dance Room for 14 years.

M3 is a lesser known label, named after a Michigan state highway,
connected with Record Time and Huckaby (who did work for the label)
whose releases ran the gamut from techno & rave to the deepest
     house sounds.

The Doctor here is none other than Rick Wade in one of his more
obscure outings. Side A is a big disco house stomper with a nice
horn hook and plenty of period detail. B1 ups the tempo for a an
early a.m. tech house ride and B2 brings it back down again for a
     proto-beatdown sound.
