 ▌ RELEASE NOTES:                                                       ▐
 ▌ Generic cross-fertilisation splintered out of the most vibrant urban ▐
 ▌ scene of the last few years is continuing to gather pace, with the   ▐
 ▌ much discussed Techno/Dubstep fusion looming large at one end of the ▐
 ▌ spectrum, and the long-awaited evolution of Drum & Bass causing much ▐
 ▌ excitement at the other.                                             ▐
 ▌                                                                      ▐
 ▌ The Revolver label has set itself the daunting task of shifting Drum ▐
 ▌ & Bass away from its comfort zone and into pastures new, something   ▐
 ▌ that's realised with some considerable success on this new twelve    ▐
 ▌ from Martyn.                                                         ▐
 ▌                                                                      ▐
 ▌ "Broken" is basically a jungle track stripped off its breaks and,    ▐
 ▌ instead, replaced with one towering bassline and some introspective, ▐
 ▌ almost ballearic synths - all very evocative and, above all things,  ▐
 ▌ restrained.                                                          ▐
 ▌ "Shadowcasting" on the flip is more complex and harder to digest in  ▐
 ▌ one sitting, a progressive line in arrangements and vocal edits that ▐
 ▌ only really start to make sense when the bassline kicks in proper    ▐
 ▌ about half way in. Good to see heads young and old starting to push  ▐
 ▌ things into uncharted waters - it's what each and every musical      ▐
 ▌ microcosm and scene needs in order to survive. Solid.                ▐
