HAILING from Wolverhampton as they do, Ripchord face the
ignominy of being lumped in with other new æWest Midlands
sceneÆ bands like The Enemy and The Twang.
Their new single is not likely to set the world alight,
but it scarcely merits association with such detritus.
Produced by Ian Broudie (who doesnÆt work with just
anybody), Backstabber is catchy punk-pop. Disposable, yes,
but punchy, tuneful and stylish too. And under two minutes
long, just as it should be.
