Soiree Records International was established in 1990 by Derrick
Thompson and is still active today. The label focuses on deep
house, late night grooves & intelligent electronic rhythm concepts.
PH Balanced is Todd Perrine (still releasing tracks, check myspace)
and Laura Hardgrove. 4 pleasing tracks here on their first Soiree
Release: side A1 a simple funky vocal sample twisted into a hook
over a dirty beat thats then joined by a irresistable subbassline;
A2 taking the concept and tweeking it a little harder; side AA1
"Can't Wait layering melodic chord progressions under strategically
manipulated sampling and finally AA2 bringing in vocalist, Chive,
for an ever evolving groove that starts out sweet and ends quite a
bit harder.
Final note: the promo vinyl here contains A1 Ellavashun (Original
Mix) which did not make it onto the official release.
