Cassidy DeMarco began making music on a computer at the age of 8. During the
subsequent years his audio input was saturated by 8, and later, 16 bit
videogames, the then current dance / pop radio trends, and early era gangsta
rap. He returned to music in the late 90's recording IDM/abstract material as
Monodec while completing an undergraduate degree in literature. In the early
'00s, motivated by primarily by a tumultuous relationship with Jameson Irish
whiskey Cassidy recorded two indie'rock / experimental / slowcore albums as C++.
In 2003 he formed Disscompany Records with Colin Jones as a format for releasing
collaborative hip-hop material under the name Brokaw as well as his solo
breakcore / noise / idm effort Minijack. Following multiple Brokaw and Minijack
releases including appearances on all three volumes of "Pure Tone Audiotonomy"
released by Eardrums4Eyelids, Cassidy revived the Monodec identity and recorded
two EP's which have been recently re-released. Following the two EP's in 2005
Cassidy travelled to Tokyo where he recorded what would be the first Monodec
full-length album: the still unreleased "i carry a 700░c flame in my hand with
people walking all around me". Subsequent Monodec albums were released on
Cassidy's A.W.A.S. ; N.M.B.H. imprint along with other side projects.
The recently completed debut album "Puisne", recorded under the newly instituted
Gouseion pseudonym, for Runriot Records, will be available worldwide Spring '07.
