Prescription is widely regarded as one of the most influential Deep
House imprints of the period, blending the Chicago and Detroit
sensibilities of its founders into something wholly unique.
Prescription, together with it's sister label Balance, introduced
the likes of Anthony Nicholson, Abacus, Glen Underground (CVO),
Moodymann, Norma Jean Bell, Joshua, Peven Everett, Rob Mello, and
Luke Solomon to the world.
Here's the first issue of Prescription's "Vault Series" but still
carrying a traditional catalogue number of PR-5016.
It's rare that reissued remixes of classic tracks are worth the
vinyl they are pressed on. But even faced with the untouchable
Trent original (from PRES107 and recorded back in 1993 in the KMS
Studios) this 12 manages to do the trick and more.
On side A Brann and Injex go for a maximal approach, taking the
track on a jazz journey. Paul Johnson is much more restrained on
side B, fattening up the bottom end and playing a bit with the
keyz.es
