| - Auto Battle: You never swing a sword. You buy men, feed them, |
| train them, arm them — then send them onto the sand and watch. |
| The fight runs on its own; you get one shout to work the crowd |
| and one order to raise the guard. After that it belongs to your |
| fighter. |

| - Health bars stay hidden in the arena. You read a fight the way |
| the crowd reads it — by the blood in the sand, by the moment a |
| man stops advancing and starts backing away. |
| |
| - Then the crowd looks at you. Spare the loser and Rome respects |
| you. Kill him and tonight's purse is heavier. Lose, and it is |
| your man on the ground — and someone else decides. |
| |
| - Defeat usually means death. A gladiator you trained for eleven |
| weeks can be gone in ninety seconds, and the chronicle will |
| remember his name long after you replaced him. |

| - There is no time limit. Your dynasty lives as long as one of |
| your men still breathes. When the last one falls — or when you |
| take the Emperor's Laurel — everything your house achieved is |
| paid out as legacy, and you begin again a little less poor than |
| before. |

| - Ten cities from Paestum to the Palatine, across four leagues, |
