██ Pasunisti Antti Rissasen luotsaama Mr. Fonebone
██ yhtye perustettiin vuonna 1994. Se on yksi
██ harvoista yli kymmenen vuotta yhtΣjaksoisesti
██ toimineista suomalaisista jazz-yhtyiestΣ. NΣiden
██ vuosien aikana siitΣ on jo tullut jonkinasteinen
██ ikoni suomalaisten jazz-yhtyeiden parissa. Mr
██ Fonebone on vuosien saatossa yhteen hitsautunut,
██ innovatiivinen bΣndi, joka korkealla
██ taiteellisella tasollaan antaa kuulijalle hienoja
██ elΣmyksiΣ.

██ Yhtyeen jΣsenet ovat kaikki ansioituneita
██ jazz-muusikkoja Suomessa ja ulkomailla. Jokaisella
██ heistΣ on my÷s alan akateeminen koulutus -
██ musiikin maisterin pΣtevyys. Yhtyeen muusikot ovat
██ kaikki vapaita taiteilijoita, jotka vaikuttavat
██ kukin monissa muissakin yhtyeissΣ. NeljΣllΣ
██ jΣsenestΣ viidestΣ on takanaan henkil÷kohtaisia
██ kilpailuvoittoja ulkomailta. Antti Rissanen (1.
██ palkinto Frank Rosolino -jazzpasuunakilpailu 1998,
██ 1.palkinto Rich Matteson -kilpailu 2001), Mikko

██ HISTORIA

██ Yhtye on perustamisestaan v.1994 lΣhtien
██ konsertoinut tasaisin vΣliajoin Suomessa ja
██ ulkomailla. Suomea yhtye on kiertΣnyt yksittΣisten
██ konserttien lisΣksi kolmella Suomen kiertueella ja
██ ulkomailla yhtye on esiintynyt mm.USA:ssa,
██ Islannissa ja Saksassa.

██ Yhtyeen ensimmΣinen levy - Mr Fonebone (ARF-463) -
██ ilmestyi vuonna 1997. Sen ΣΣnitti Yleisradio ja se
██ julkaistiin omakustanteena. Toinen levy Mr
██ Fonebone Live (TEXCD 3000) ΣΣnitettiin vuonna
██ 1999. SiinΣ vierailevana solistina on kanadalainen
██ trumpetisti Ingrid Jensen. Kyseinen levy
██ tuotettiin omakustanteena ja sen jakelijana toimii
██ Texicalli Records.

██ Yhtye on soittanut laajasti lΣhes kaikilla
██ suomalaisissa jazz-tapahtumissa mm. Pori Jazz
██ Festivaalilla, Imatra Big Band

██ This year of 2007 will be the 13th year
██ anniversary
██ for Mr Fonebone! The group's third CD "Hit and
██ Run" will be released at the Turku Jazz Happening
██ on the fri the 9th of March at 9 pm!
██
██ You will find Mr Fonebone performing some
██ festivals this summer.
██
██ Since Mr Fonebone - jazz quintet was founded by Mr
██ Antti Rissanen (mr bone) and Mr Mikko Innanen (mr
██ fone) in Helsinki, Finland in 1994, it has been
██ one of the most innovative jazz groups in the
██ Finnish scene. It is built of five individual jazz
██ comets, award winning players, who all present
██ very obviously the unigue Finnish jazz generation,
██ which has a certain unique sound of its own.
██
██ The musical roots are based in the 60's when the
██ modal, high energy playing, made its way in jazz
██ music. That music, mixed with freedom of
██ expression and influences from the Finnish folk
██ music gives Mr Fonebone a special taste of nordic
██ exotic sound.
██
██ Debut release "Mr Fonebone" (ARF-463) was released
██ in 1997. The Second CD "Mr Fonebone Live"
██ (TEXCD3000) features trumpet player Ingrid Jensen
██ and was recorded live on tour in Finland in 1999.
██ Mr Fonebone has also been a part of
██ Sibelius-Academy's releases "Sounds In the Snow"
██ in 1995 and "Modes" in 2001.
██
██ Besides touring many times around Finland, Mr
██ Fonebone has toured in Germany, Iceland and the
██ USA. Also, a large number of different kinds of
██ clinics and workshops are being held by the
██ musicians, along touring.

██ MUSICIANS
██
██ The trombonist Antti Rissanen became elected the
██ Brass Player of the year 2002 by the Finnish Brass
██ Society. In 2001 he wan the ITEC jazz euphonium
██ contest in the annual conference in Lahti,
██ Finland. In 1998 he won the 21th international
██ Frank Rosolino -jazz trombone contest in USA and
██ in 1996 he got the 2nd prize in open Big Band
██ composersÆ contest in Frankfurt, Germany. Besides
██ holding a masterÆs degree in Sibelius-Academy, he
██ has studied in Berlin with Prof. Jiggs Whigham and
██ at the New School University in USA with Conrad
██ Herwig. Antti performs as a soloist with several
██ big bands and festivals all over Europe. He also
██ composes for many orchestras as well as teaches at
██ various institutes around Finland.
██
██ Mikko Innanen (b.1978) is a Finnish saxophonist
██ and composer who graduated in 2003 from the jazz
██ department of Sibelius-Academy, the only
██ university level music academy in Finland. Innanen
██ spent one year of his studies in Copenhagen,
██ Denmark, at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory.
██ Over the last few years he has played with a
██ number of groups, including several groups with
██ other young Finnish jazz musicians such as
██ Nuijamiehet, Gourmet, Mikko Innanen & Innkvisitio
██ and Delirium as well as with many international
██ musicians.
██ Innanen was awarded a one-year artist┤s grant by
██ the Finnish State┤s Arts Council in 2003, the best
██ soloist┤s prize at the International Competition
██ for Jazz Groups in Getxo, Spain, in 2000 and the
██ first prize at the first Jukka Perko saxophone
██ competition in 2001. In 2004 Finnish jazz
██ journalists voted Innanen as the runner-up alto,
██ soprano and baritone saxophone player of the year
██ 2003 and 2004.
██
██ The pianist Kari Ikonen wan the Julius Hemphil
██ jazz composers competition in the USA in 2001.
██ His Karikko band won Jazz-Emma Award for the best
██ recording of the year 2001.
██
██ The bass player Tuure Koski is one of the most
██ used bass players in the scene in Finland. Since
██ made master's degree in Sibelius-Akademy, he has
██ been most in demand for all kinds of projects.
██
██ The drummer Mika Kallio won the second soloist
██ award at the Getxo International Festival in Spain
██ in 1999. He is the most sought-after drummer in
██ Finland, along the national scene.
