def: disposition - the way in which something is placed or
arranged, esp. in relation to other things.
the words' definition describes nils krogh's musical composition
perfectly. at first glance, this up-tempo jazz track is
uncontrolled mayhem. a strong bass line is joined by rebellious
drums and topped off with a swank trumpet melody and solo.
laid-back rhodes finalize this musical roller-coaster ride.
however nils knows the tricks of the trade and keeps everything
neatly in its place. the result: a perfect balance of order and
chaos.
nils seems to have a simpler approach to developing his skills
than most:
i was actually inspired a lot by tv. if i saw somebody playing the
guitar on tv i thought: "i also want to play the guitar." if i saw
somebody playing the trumpet on tv i thought: "i also want to play
the trumpet" so i did.
other inspirations are old jazz legends like herbie hancock and
john coltrane, but also his producer friends christopher berg
(hird) and andreas saag (swell session).
activity as a dj and organizer gave him a taste for the club
scene. collaborations with fellow musicians in different
constellations like soular sound, put his productions on the map.
now nils is breaking out on his own. suave "you're still the same"
on dnm compilation "blueprints 01" was an introduction.
"disposition" is his debut ep. this is jazz with an electronic and
organic touch. inverse cinematix have provided an excellent remix
overflowing with pumping beats.
