Finally, an album of real-time, performer-manipulated computer
works in various alternative tunings by one of the Bay Area's
     most delightfully creative composer/philosopher/visionaries.
Selections include: "I Heard a Thousand Blended Notes" (title
from a 1794 poem by William Wordsworth), "Simulated Winds and
Cries" (1992) made from justly intoned sliding intervals
selected by 1/f fractal patterns, "Some Pointillism" (1990),
"Rebirth" (1990) in which "the computer, empty of suffering
(running the language Formula), simulates high-speed attainment
of Nirvana by playing (a) medieval Tibetan Buddhist game," and
"Rave Patterns" (1992) created for a rave dance party that the
police shut down before it got going ("...Thus was the
underground confirmed in its oppositions.") The composer has
this to says about the various pieces: "I like to imagine that
they are precursors to uplifting, slightly alien musical A.I.s
of the 21st century. Oh, how I hope and wish that contemporary
cyber-culture will lead to a beautiful utopian compassionate
     world of Good!"
