Meaningless Existence (2026) is the second full-length album from the New
Zealand band Utilize The Remains, playing brutal slamming death metal
(with deathcore elements).
Formed in 2021 (originating in Dunedin/Otago, active in Christchurch),
the band presents this album as a follow-up to Psychotic Abyss (2023).
Utilize The Remains plays heavy, slamming brutal death metal featuring
dense breakdowns, brutal riffs, gutturals, pig squeals, and an atmosphere
of misery, suffering, delirium, and nihilism. Their debut album explored
themes of immutable suffering, delirium, the rotting of the soul, and
existential reset. The title Meaningless Existence reinforces a thematic
focus on a life devoid of meaning, psychological pain, mental
disintegration, and despair.
