Orthodox and utterly occult Black Metal from the early nineties that was
injected with a hefty dose of satanic malevolence is what Dunes Of Ash
bring.
The album is a stark and immersive descent into orthodox Black Metal's
most atmospheric corners. Built on dissonant riff architecture,
ritualistic pacing, and a suffocating sense of cosmic dread, the album
pushes beyond genre orthodoxy into a realm of spiritual confrontation and
avantΓÇægarde tension. There is quite some heavy hammering and clubbing
going on.
Monotonous riff work alternates with icy lead parts that, due to the
nature of the mix, lie somewhere between the vocals and the drums. It is
all delightfully brutal, aggressive, and very vicious. Dunes Of Ash pay
tribute to The Order of Nine Angles, Satanism, Death, Darkness.
Across seven movements, Dunes of Ash weave liturgical chants, fractured
melodies, and violent rhythmic surges into a cohesive narrative of
celestial ruin , think of Nehëmah, older Emperor, Deathspell Omega and
Aosoth. The album has already been praised for its depth, ambition, and
