"Totengasse" is a concept about death, the most natural
part of every living existence, in its various
incarnations. These are nine stories of macabre,
suffering, sorrow, brutality and anguish. Historical
events and characters inspired the lyrics for this
album. From the greedy grave diggers from Frankenstein
(today, Ząbkowice Śląskie), the Kamikaze pilots
sacrificing their lives, through mysterious manslaughter
in the German village of Hinterkaifeck, an epidemic of
coma, the history of Anatolij Moskvin, a tale of Cotard
Syndrome, to gruesome stories of Unit 731, Jack the
Ripper's final murder and one of the Death Marches'
victims.
