records carrying the sounds of nostalgia, "Genkai Kⁿkan" is a hidden
paradise reached only by the most devoted diggers. Leaving behind
ordinary pleasures and everyday comforts like monks on a musical
pilgrimage, these passionate collectors chase unknown and forgotten
sounds buried beneath layers of dust. They travel to forgotten
settlements, digging, searching, and hunting through countless records

the people who live there are kind. Whether you're worn down by the
exhaustion of springtime blues, or feeling heavy-hearted as the gloomy
rainy season approaches, this mix quietly holds an umbrella over your

Yaruo (Beat Kaigi) is from Tokyo. He got into DJ culture at the age of
15, when he began working as an assistant to a well-known local DJ,
helping him with tasks such as carrying record cases and equipment. At
the same time, he started DJing himself, initially focusing primarily
on Hip-Hop. After his mentor advised him to move away from playing
Hip-Hop and focus instead on Japanese music, Yaruo moved into Wamono.
He began searching for and collecting Japanese music on vinyl, and
playing these records in his DJ sets. After a ten-year break, Yaruo
returned to DJing. He began putting his mixes online as free-to-listen
releases, but kept them available only briefly, taking them down
shortly after upload. This approach helped build his popularity and
got more listeners interested in his mixes. When one of his online
mixes caught the attention of a well-known figure within DJ circles,
gained his approval and reached a wider audience, some Japanese record
shops also took an interest in Yaruo's mixes. They asked him to make
mixes for them, which they could then offer to their customers as
physical releases. At first, the mixes appeared as CDR's in very small
runs. Then, in 2015, Yaruo received an offer from the Japanese record
label "Twilight City Records", leading to the release of his first
officially pressed Mix-CD. When it comes to his Wamono mixes, Yaruo
does not confine himself to any particular genre, instead weaving
together a wide range of Japanese musical styles, including: City Pop,
Enka, Blues Kayo, Folk, Boogie, and Jazz. This eclectic approach has
shaped a distinctive style of his own, earning him a strong reputation
among Wamono enthusiasts. He is also a long time member of the Japanese
group of DJ's and diggers called "Beat Kaigi".
