A Collection Of Deep Minimal Electronic And Dubby Excursions
Into House
The twists and turns in the house music scene have brought
to the fore, once again, the more abstract, minimal and
experimental forms of house and techno. In celebration of
these sounds, respected UK label NRK Music have plundered
deep into their back catalogue to present a 21 track
compilation featuring the finest in deep, abstract,
electronic & dubby house music.
Altered States kicks off with an experimental skit from
LAÆs David Alvarado (Ovum/Peacefrog), and his otherworldly
passages appear throughout this double unmixed CD. Some
older gems are unearthed on this comp, including the early
2020 Vision remix of AkabuÆs ôYour Wildest Dreamsö, a
punchy, robotic club cut that sounds just as relevant
today as it did on its first release in 2000. Other UK
based producers crop up on Disc One, including Paul
WoolfordÆs reflective slice of deep electronica ôSealed In
Amberö, Solid GrooveÆs trademark jackin remix of ôFeel
Alrightö, Jamie AndersonÆs crunchy Drexciya homage ôDeep
Illusionö and the devastating and downright dirty Radio
Slave remix of Peace DivisionÆs ôBlacklight Sleazeö. Other
highlights on this first disc include the dubby and chord
drenched Dano remix of Mood II Swing and the spongy
