international dj gigs smith & mighty return greater than ever. and
the soulful bass sound of bristol shakes the loudspeakers again.
more tunes, more soul, more bass and more groove-variations are
featured on the new album and "life has a way" is a nice taster.
"we are living in serious times" is sung before a western guitar
is picked, but then (namen einf▄gen) sings "life has a way to show
a new day, a new way". and this you can already hear in the very
smartly programmed groove that reminds us of drum n┤bass without
falling into the odd rhythmic structure. there are also other ways
to write your music, as smith & mighty show us, without losing
your former attitude.
the flipside, "b-line fi blow" is a two step skanking mc tune with
a hands-in-the-air feeling. come down, my selector: hear the
album, and understand what smith & mighty are about in 2002.
